Getting Around the Wesley Church Website

Finding your way in life is often hard without someone to hold your hand on occasion. We're here to help!

The Wesley website is laid out in an easy-to-follow, hopefully familiar fashion. All of the major topics are listed in the menu across the top of the page...

As you roll your cursor over any of the text links they will change colour. Just click on any link to be taken to that page. You'll notice that the link for the page you're on will turn dark so you always know where you are. And you can always find your way back home...just click "Home"!

There are also small text links to all of the main pages at the bottom of every web page as well.

But Wait...There's More!

Some of the pages you'll come to are jumping off points that have "sub-menus". Clicking on any of these will take you to other areas or new pages which are not listed on the main menu.

As you roll your cursor over the sub-menu items they will also change colour. You can tell what page you're on by noting a box around the sub-menu text.

Finally, there are "text links". These can appear all by themselves or within a sentence in a paragraph. They will appear in a different colour than the normal text on the page and will be underlined. Here's an example: Home Page. As you can see; the text is a different colour and underlined.

If you hover your cursor over the text it will change colour and your arrow will change to a hand (or something else depending on how you've set up your computer). When you see that, you can click on the text and you will be taken to a new item.

Text links could lead you to another web page, an article, a picture or something else of interest. Usually the page will be opened in a new window. When you are finished you can close the page and you will return to the page on which the link was found.

What's this?

Some links are to documents that might be of interest but were created in a program that you may not have on your computer. To allow you to view them they have been converted to a universal file that almost anyone can use called a Portable Document Format or ".pdf". These documents will have an icon like the one to the left.

Most computers come with a program called "Adobe Reader" installed which will automatically open up a .pdf document.

If you don't have this program on your computer you can get it for free! Simply click here or wherever you see the Adobe package icon and a new window will open with instructions on downloading and installation. The instructions are easy to follow and it's quick. Just follow the guidelines and you'll be able to view the documents in no time.
